Provenance: The makers have kindly provided us with the following information:

W W Greener gun no. 52512 is the no. 1 of a consecutive pair of 12 bore shotguns with 30 inch Whitworth steel barrels. Ordered from and supplied to our London establishment we have no record of the original owner. Started on 16th December 1903 and finished on 13th May the following year they are described as 'G 70' ejectors shotguns. Stock dimensions when made were 2 by 1-1/2 by 14-3/8 inches, straight hand with fancy chequering. The records do not state whether it has self-acting or unique ejectors but probably the latter. It was engraved with scrolls and game scenes by Mills. Mr Frederic Greener (4th son of W W Greener) blacked the barrels. The G 70 model cost 70 guineas when originally sold, a top model.
